| arnaud was good until he hurt his hand. but if you go back to the year before when isu was also in a pro style set he blew away what panzi did last year. stanzi is the product of a good team and his backup is worse | |

| Then who is the best qb in the state then? Vandenburg is young with a great arm. | |

Arnaud did more with less two years ago(compared to Stanzi this last year). Arnaud was on pace to do more last year until he got hurt last year, but he did have a down year being the first year in the spread and not having WR's or OL built for the spread. Next year, Arnauds senior year and second year with a great offensive coordinator he will blow Stanzi's doors off.

| Here is the deal Arnaud is worthless and so is Stanzi. I am not a Stanzi fan at all. I said Vandenberg will be better than him. The reason wy Iowa does not need a stud QB is because the rest of the team is full of studs who beat the shit out of people. Plenty of them make it to the NFL. So between Arnaud and Stanzi, I say they both suck and niether one will go anywhere at the next level. The talent level at ISU is still very second rate. | |

| How are they on the rise. They dont get shit for recruits. The recruits that they do get are undersized and they dont have the weight program that Iowa has so they dont develop into top rated talent. Wow look at the facts. Rhodes will keep them good enough to finish around .500 every year in the big 12 north which is shit. | |

| In case you have not noticed I am an Iowa fan. I will never like Iowa State and thats the way it always will be. In a year where the cyclones made it to the toilet bowl plaing against I dont remember becuase it doesnt matter, Iowa beat the shit out of them when they played then Iowa physically man handled a top ten team. Its great to be an Iowa fan boys. | |

LOL Whats funny about that is this years recruiting class is arguably one of the best classes in history, maybe second to one they have about eight or so years ago when they were ranked. So I'm not sure how you can say they aren't getting better, especially since they more than excded expectations last year and could easily win the north this year. Hell I wouldn't be shocked if they can beat Oklahoma this year either. Not just because ISU is looking real good this year, but because Oklahoma doesn't look as good as usual. They were a young team last year, and they did pretty well for being their first year in a spread offense and with a new defensive scheme. Hell a lot of people are comparing Rhodes to when Ferantz took over at Iowa. ISU's OC had one of the best offenses in the nation at Rice, and their DC has one of the best defenses in the nation at South Florida. Under Rhodes its a lot like the "right 53" with Pioli, but the biggest difference is everyone is buying into it, they were last year and more so now after they exceded his what they thought was unrealistic expecations of winning a Bowl game. Arnaud is healthy again, a long with Iowa States top two receivers that didn't get to play much last year because of injury. They get their top DE back who also didn't play last year because of injury, and they also will have a DE that just transfered in who might be even better to start on the other side. They did lose all three starting LB's the biggest loss being Jesse Smith. But replacing him is a juco transfer that was an all american at his small college he went to, and Monte Kiffen also had a hard on for him trying to get him to come to tennassee.. and a lot of people call him the next Rey Mauluga. As for the other two LB's. They are both a lot more athletic and faster than last years, both being only sophomores this year, and during the spring game one expert called one of then a future nfl player and others call him the next Chad Greenway.. which is kind of cool considering a lot of people thing the other LB is better. Iowa State was young last year, and 99% of their key players are returning. If they stay healthy this year, unlike last year, they will be a lot better. Especially now that they aren't learning a new offense and defense. There is no possible way you can say they aren't on the rise.

| And really they were in a lot of close games like Iowa last year, the difference is they were new and were on the wrong side of pulling out the lucky win. Plus this year Iowa States OL will probably be better than Iowas too. I'm actually feeling good about ISU's OL against Iowas DL this year, and I'm not sure if I've ever said that before. Iowa State was #2 in red zone defense last year, they were one of those bend but don't break defenses. I can see it being better, but it just depends on how fast the three new starting LB's can get it together.. but they are far more athletically supirior to last years guys. | |

| I do expect the offense to look a lot more like a spread offense this year, and actually put points on the board. | |

| Do I think ISU will be better, yeah. Do I think they could compete with top teams consistently NO. Hell no. Iowa gets recruits like that all the time. | |

| Iowa picked up some of the slack on the DL with Ferguson coming in. He will start right away more than likely. Watcht the tape on him! So you will have to deal with Clayborne, Ballard, Ferguson. Those three will give you guys hell I guarantee it. Clayborne and Ballard will tear people apart. Iowa is going to have a strong team next year. They have the pieces in place to replace all of the guys who left. Iowa always has a strong OL. Allot of the guys that will start this year played allot last season, they already have the experience neccesary. It should be interesting seasons for both Iowa and ISU. | |

| Iowa State will be a little better. There is no way in hell they could hang with, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech or Oklahoma State on a regular basis. They will not have that kind of talent. I think they will make a bowl game but it wont be anywhere close to January. | |

| They are more talented than you want to believe. Its between them and Nebraska to win the north and I dont think Nebraska is as good this year. | |

| Thats fine winning the north. Shit you could win the big 12 north with a .500 record. The Big 12 North is weak as hell. They cant hang with the South. | |
