| Waters got 5.5 million for 2 years guaranteed. Under his contract with us, he was scheduled to make 6 million this season. | |

| Earlier this offseason we were wondering if the Kansas City Chiefs would consider picking up OT Matt Light from the New England Patriots before he ultimately re-signed with Bill Belichick and Co. It's not Matt Light but the Chiefs did pick up a former New England offensive tackle -- Steve Maneri. The 6'6", 290 pound offensive tackle comes out of Temple, where he played tight end (and was a team captain). Maneri was waived by the Patriots and hit the waiver wire, which means that every team, in draft order, had a shot at claiming him (and his contract). The highest bid wins and that was the Chiefs. The Chiefs had just seven offensive linemen which was one less than they'd normally carry and that included three offensive tackles -- Brandon Albert, Jared Gaither and Barry Richardson -- and now Maneri becomes the fourth offensive tackle. He's had a little bit of experience as a swing tackle so he can play on both sides. To make room for Maneri, the Chiefs released TE Anthony Becht who was just signed earlier this month. It's very possible this marks the end of Becht's career as he was transitioning to a role with the media before the Chiefs called.

| I think hes more of TE than he is a OT. Sounds like a younger more athletic version of Becht to me. He played TE in College. | |

| David Garrard gets released by the Jags, should they bring him in as a backup? His completion % is over 60%.

| Bellicheck releases 2nd round pick CB Darius Butler. For a guy with an ass load of high picks, Bellicheck seems to be fumbling some of these | |

| Wasn't he supposed to be a savior of the Broncos a few years back? | |

| I dont know anything about Warren, but if they were looking for another Smith type of presence. Warren might fill that spot. | |

| I didn't realize it was Warren that almost took the Donks to the playoffs! He's not a bad player, but I don't know who on the DL would get the boot just to see if he has anything left. Two weeks ago would have been a possibility when rosters were still over 80.
As for Garrard, he would seriously upgrade our backup QB position. If you think he upgrades the starting spot you're crazy. I've never seen any sort of desire to win from him. He's always been complacent on the field. And you can add that to his inaccuracy and piss poor decision-making. I would be embarrassed to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars leftover sloppy seconds.

| Signing Garrard would not only be an upgrade as our backup QB, but also as our starting QB. | |

he definately upgrades the backup spot, but i dont want him as a starter! I take Cassell every day of the week for my starter over Garrard

Stanzi can throw a better ball, he has the size and potential to be an upgrade. But he needs to be a lot more consistent and play smarter. He has some learning to do. He COULD be an upgrade in a few years, but he has his work cut out for him. No way Palko is an upgrade.

| I wouldn't bring Garrard in to start over Cassel. But honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Cassel got hurt and Garrard never lost the starting job after that. I think hes one of those guys that can be pretty good on a talented team. Hes no great QB who can make a bad team good though. | |

| Stanzi's pocket pressence and throw power and accuracy are already better than Cassel. | |
