| If I had to say right now I'd call this a 7 or 8 win team. I like the moves we've made. Eliminating almost all the needs we have allowing us to almost draft purely for depth aside from #1, something Pioli completely ignored. I'd like to see us draft another WR, interior O lineman, preferably center, maybe both center and guard, someone to stick next to DJ at ILB and a project pass rusher. | |

| The only holes left are DE and LB. This is interesting! I never in my wildest dreams thought they would sign this many players before the draft. I think the pick comes down to Star and Joeckel. Geno was my favorite in this draft but I don't see it happening with them paying Chase 3 million per. Clearly they expect Chase to be the backup. | |

| Schwartz was a great signing. 1 year deal. I'd say he starts at LG and Jeff Allen and Stephenson compete at RT unless Joeckel is the plan. | |

| One thing I like with all these deals is theyre all short term deals. I dont think any of the guys weve signed have more than a 3 year deal so if they dont pan out they can be let go or cheaply released next season. | |

| Dorsey wasn't kidding when he said he drafts BPA. He wants no holes so he can just draft the best player available regardless. | |

Exactly what I figured would happen..especially since the Alex Smith trade. Literally days after we traded for Smith the Geno to the Raiders chat started up..then Eagles..then Cardinals..then Bills. I love how all the so called "experts" flip flopped..all saying he has mid to late round talent..now all of a sudden he could be a franchise guy. And were stuck here with Alex Fucking Smith.

| The Chiefs are listed alongside the "winners" thus far in the NFL offseason, at least according to Gregg Rosenthal.
It was only a year ago that many NFL experts believed that the Kansas City Chiefs had "won" the offseason. Scott Pioli made several significant moves and the Chiefs were expected to contend with the Denver Broncos for the AFC West lead and a potential playoff spot. Instead the two teams were polar opposites and the Chiefs now hold the first pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Thus far in the NFL offseason, the Chiefs are being labeled "winners" once again. NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal took an early stab of winners and losers in the AFC in a recent column and listed the Chiefs in the winner category. Rosenthal specifically loves the way that the Chiefs defense could look:
Will all of us media suckers fall for the Chiefs again? The defense looks absolutely loaded after signing cornerbacks Dunta Robinson, Sean Smith and defensive tackle Mike Devito to go with the underrated defensive talent returning. (Derrick Johnson, Tamba Hali, Justin Houston, Brandon Flowers and Eric Berry to start.)
He's not the only one to say so. Many NFL analysts have applauded the work of the Chiefs. Clifton Brown from Sporting News claims they can be a "surprise team" next year. ESPN's Bill Williamson calls them one of the "biggest winners in free agency". And of course own Matt Verderame gave the Chiefs an 'A' grade in a recent rundown at SB Nation.
Rosenthal concludes with the prediction that the Chiefs could bounce back quickly. He writes, "This should be a team that expects to be competitive and around .500 right away."

| Chiefs Sign LB Chad Kilgore
Chiefs sign Kilgore Posted 16 mins ago via CBSSports.com Chad Kilgore
The Chiefs announced Wednesday that the club has signed free agent linebacker Chad Kilgore. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Raiders in 2012. He spent the 2012 training camp with the Raiders before being released prior to the regular season.

| Kansas City Chiefs wanted to sign a defensive tackle last week
By Joel Thorman on Mar 31 2013, 6:06a @JoelThorman 45
The Kansas City Chiefs tried to sign a defensive tackle last week but he ended up with the Miami Dolphins.
Defensive tackle Vaughn Martin came into the league as a fourth round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. He spent four seasons in San Diego, starting 12 and 15 games in the last two seasons. Martin was a free agent this year, deciding to sign with the Miami Dolphins last Thursday.
You know who else wanted to sign him?
Yep, the Chiefs.
The Sun-Sentinel reportsMartin had offers from the New England Patriots, San Diego Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks. (I'm assuming that's true and not just his agent pumping out lies because what agent would do that??).
So what does this tell us? That the Chiefs are interested in more defensive line depth. Currently, Tyson Jackson and Mike DeVito are on the end spots. Glenn Dorsey signed with the 49ers in San Francisco. There is some depth -- Allen Bailey has some promise -- but more is needed.
Keep an eye out for the Chiefs poking around free agent defensive tackles. The market is largely dried up but there are still some guys who could potentially help from a depth standpoint.

Free agency is beginning to slow down, but there are several players still available that could help teams get to where they want to go.
The NFL free agent frenzy may have subsided, but teams continue to be active, as players shuffle around the league on free agent deals. The big-name free agents are all gone, for the most part, and those that remain unsigned are either negotiating new deals or are waiting by their phones for the call that will give them a new job in 2013. This past week, Brent Grimes, Terence Newman, Fred Davis and others were signed and rumors of a possible trade of Matt Flynn to the Raiders swirled.
