| Is your hate really that blind? You would be on his nuts if he wasn't a top pick. Sorry that it's the worst draft in history going into it and we ended up with a solid starter that still has time and upside to get a lot better. It's not like we missed out on someone like Berry or Hali that draft. Speaking if Hali it took him awhile to really break out, took DJ even longer. Jackson is far from maxed out, get your panties out of a bunch. | |

| I wouldnt know who he was if we didnt take him. he was an end of the 1st guy at best. here are the 1st rounders that are better from that year. Stafford Raji Crabtree Orakpo Cushing Freeman Maclin Pettigrew Harvin Oher Matthews Nicks Britt Wells and probably a couple others if I look up the numbers. thats almost half the 1st round in a bad draft year and we picked #3 | |

| Kansas City Chiefs Sign A Free Agent Receiver
Headshot_tiny by Joel Thorman on May 22, 2012 9:15 AM CDT
The Kansas City Chiefs announced the arrival of a new free agent -- Aaron Weaver. A receiver out of Syracuse (and before that, Hofstra), Weaver played 26 career games in college and caught 141 balls for an average of 10.6 yards per catch.
I don't know a whole lot about this guy. Here's his bio from the Chiefs:
Weaver (6'2", 220) transferred to Syracuse in 2010 after Hofstra eliminated its football program. Prior to his time with Syracuse, Weaver played three seasons with the Pride. His career numbers include 26 games played, 141 receptions for 1,504 yards (10.6 avg.) and nine touchdowns. While at Hofstra, he led the team in receptions in 2009 and earned second-team All-Colonial Athletic Association honors in 2008 after leading the Pride in receptions, punt return and kickoff return average and all purpose yards. Born in Long Island, N.Y., Weaver prepped at Baldwin High School, where he served as a team captain.
And check out his career stats and more bio information from Syracuse.
By my count, Weaver becomes the 88th player on the Chiefs roster.

| Safeties would be nice but we are good enough there to get by. As much as I hate Jackson and this years 1st pick I think KC is only a QB away from the SB. Look at all the big time Offenses from last year. We are more talented than all of them outside of QB. (Philly might be better if they gel) With an average QB this is a top 5 O. With a good QB it is the best if the OC knows what he is doing. If healthy I still think Charles is the best RB in the game. We have 2 above average WR's and a 2nd year guy with potential if he grows up. Boss and Winston are upgrades over what we had. Hillis is also an upgrade at 2 RB. If Routt plays decent we still might have one of the best secondaries in the game to make up for our bad Dline. QB really is the only position keeping us from the SB or at least an AFC title game. | |

| What I was talking about when I said a veteran safety is, a realistic option. Where the fuck are we going to find a better QB now? | |

| Manning was the only better option we could have had since Pioli got here. Orton put up better stats because he could move the ball but he ways choked in the redzone. Slight upgrade since Cassel can't even make it there, but not by a large margin and he's not good enough to start anywhere else. I think Quinn is the best talent Pioli has had the opportunity to acquire since Manning wouldn't even give us the light of day. Something I think he will seriously regret after seeing us twice this year. | |

I'm just curious what NE wanted or wants for Mallett. That would be a much better option than we have now. I'm mostly happy where we are now though. Good FA period this year. KC isnt going to the SB this year and it will be Cassels last here. Hopefully they have another FA period next year like this one and maybe get a good QB. No cassel and no Jackson alone makes this team better so 13 should be a big year. this will be a good year winning the West and maybe even a playoff game if we dont draw a great D in rnd 1. Then in 13 I think they will be one of the favs to win the AFC. As a Chiefs fan I havent seen a SB in my lifetime and a Royals fan been almost 30 years so waiting another is fine with me.

| Losing Cassel will be good for this year, losing Jackson wont be. Especially if he has a year as good as he should. Not only is it that time in a players career where it really clicks for them, but having a physical presence at the most important position of our scheme will be huge for both Jackson and Dorsey. | |

| Make a break year for Cassel. And I know most think I am crazy. But Cassel has his best year ever this year. We win AFC West. A few playoff games. Superbowl not sure, but sure as hell wouldn't surprise me either. Then what? Where does that leave Cassel then if I am right? Hey if I am wrong I will be first in line to eat crow. But if I am not I wanna know what happens then. Hey I like Cassel do I think he is decent Qb yes. A great QB no. But he will win us games. And we won't be in a position to draft a QB 1st round next year either. | |

| Wrong Cassel won't go out and win us games. If we win its because hes handing the ball off and not turning the ball over. | |

Exactly. we need Cassel to not lose games. I hope they teach him to throw the ball away and not worry about protecting his comp percentage so much too.

Exactly. we need Cassel to not lose games. I hope they teach him to throw the ball away and not worry about protecting his comp percentage so much too. I think he can win us games. He just isn't asked to the way we play. But with the talent around him and If we are in a tight game he can move us down the field and win the game. Now I want to say something. If KC didn't have all this talent, like say in 2009. Would I want Cassel as my QB knowing what I know now. No I would not. As much as I like the guy he doesn't do well without playmakers around him. We will replace him yes. But not until the right guy comes along or is ready. And it hasn't happened yet.

Better hope that guy comes soon while they have the talent bcause as long as Cassel is the QB in KC there will be no SB party.

His chances are very small after missing 10 years of field time. I'm amazed he's even getting a shot to be invited to camps this summer!

| Can't he go play college ball still? Or was he attending college through the prison somehow? I remember not all that long ago there was like a 40 year old playing college football somewhere. | |

I think you have 5 years to complete a 4 years of eligibility. The clock starts once you don the uniform. I have read about a lot of grad students playing football. I read about a 56 year old Safety who made the team and his coach was 32. This guy had kids as old as his coach. I always thought the clock started once you enrolled in college but that appears not to be the case. In this kids case though at the age of 26, it doesn't make alot of sense for him to go and play college ball. I hope someone sees enough in camp to keep him on the roster and let him get back in the swing of things again. They said he was still running 4.6 even after his time in prison. He has been thru living hell and all because some immature yapping cunt thought it would be cool to call rape probably because she was jealous of some other girl he was hanging out with. He had already been offered to USC when this happened. Wow!
