It contains no real surprises, other than perhaps the Chiefs continue to list Dexter McCluster as a wide receiver when he’s spent most of his time operating out of the backfield.
Thomas Jones is listed as the starter at running back, but keep in mind the Chiefs almost always defer to the veteran in cases like this. Tyler Palko is the number two quarterback instead of Ricky Stanzi but that mirrors how things have gone on their training camp practice field.
Without further ado, here’s the depth chart going two deep:
Offense WR: Jerheme Urban, Steve Breaston LT: Brandon Albert, David Mims LG: Ryan Lilja, Darryl Harris C: Casey Wiegmann, Rodney Hudson RG: Jon Asamoah, Bobby Greenwood RT: Barry Richardson, Ryan O’Callaghan TE: Leonard Pope, Tony Moeaki WR: Dwayne Bowe, Dexter McCluster QB: Matt Cassel, Tyler Palko FB: Le’Ron McClain, Mike Cox RB: Thomas Jones, Jamaal Charles Defense LDE: Tyson Jackson, Allen Bailey NT: Kelly Gregg, Anthony Toribio RDE: Glenn Dorsey, Wallace Gilberry LOLB: Andy Studebaker, Cameron Sheffield LILB: Jovan Belcher, Brandon Siler RILB: Derrick Johnson, Demorrio Williams ROLB: Tamba Hali, Pierre Walters LCB: Brandon Flowers, Travis Daniels RCB: Brandon Carr, Javier Arenas SS: Eric Berry, Reshard Langford FS: Kendrick Lewis, Jon McGraw Special teams P: Dustin Colquitt K: Ryan Succop LS: Thomas Gafford, Andy Studebaker H: Dustin Colquitt, Tyler Palko PR: Javier Arenas, Dexter McCluster KR: Javier Arenas, Dexter McCluster

| I agree completely, but we won't be the only team trying to trade up. If we're not in top 5, we would need to trade Charles, Hali and our entire draft. | |

| I'm thinking more like this years first pick, second pick, a mid pick, first round next year, and a late pick. | |

| That can get you from 27 to 6 overall to get Julio Jones. Now try to get from 20 to 1 to get Andrew Luck. | |

| The scale is changing. But besides that, has the #1 QB ever returned to school and still go #1 the next year? | |

| The scale is changing, just in the wrong direction. Money to rookies was biggest obstacle before. Now that money isn't the issue, everyone wants to trade up, and the total draft pick compensation is only gonna increase.
Bradford and Manning are two who still went #1 after returning to college.

I think that would get the job done if your wanted to go to 1.

| To move from 4 to 1 for the Giants in 2004 to get the autistic little brother of Peyton Manning cost two 1st rounders, a third and a fifth. | |

| Teams have also drifted further and further away from the trade chart since then. It was also Manning's little brother, who was easily the best QB in the NFL at the time.
Its really a moot point though, because there's a pretty good chance the team that picks #1 is going to need a QB. There's also a pretty good chance that Luck doesn't go #1 like pretty much every other returning QB prospect.
