It contains no real surprises, other than perhaps the Chiefs continue to list Dexter McCluster as a wide receiver when he’s spent most of his time operating out of the backfield.
Thomas Jones is listed as the starter at running back, but keep in mind the Chiefs almost always defer to the veteran in cases like this. Tyler Palko is the number two quarterback instead of Ricky Stanzi but that mirrors how things have gone on their training camp practice field.
Without further ado, here’s the depth chart going two deep:
Offense WR: Jerheme Urban, Steve Breaston LT: Brandon Albert, David Mims LG: Ryan Lilja, Darryl Harris C: Casey Wiegmann, Rodney Hudson RG: Jon Asamoah, Bobby Greenwood RT: Barry Richardson, Ryan O’Callaghan TE: Leonard Pope, Tony Moeaki WR: Dwayne Bowe, Dexter McCluster QB: Matt Cassel, Tyler Palko FB: Le’Ron McClain, Mike Cox RB: Thomas Jones, Jamaal Charles Defense LDE: Tyson Jackson, Allen Bailey NT: Kelly Gregg, Anthony Toribio RDE: Glenn Dorsey, Wallace Gilberry LOLB: Andy Studebaker, Cameron Sheffield LILB: Jovan Belcher, Brandon Siler RILB: Derrick Johnson, Demorrio Williams ROLB: Tamba Hali, Pierre Walters LCB: Brandon Flowers, Travis Daniels RCB: Brandon Carr, Javier Arenas SS: Eric Berry, Reshard Langford FS: Kendrick Lewis, Jon McGraw Special teams P: Dustin Colquitt K: Ryan Succop LS: Thomas Gafford, Andy Studebaker H: Dustin Colquitt, Tyler Palko PR: Javier Arenas, Dexter McCluster KR: Javier Arenas, Dexter McCluster

| I'm not surprised. He's pretty good, and he's been doing well so far in camp. Plus he was here last year, Baldwin and Breaston are new. Pope and Jones are a little more surpising for me. | |

| I think Pope is just listed as number one right now because Moiaki is still on PUP.. I wouldnt worry about it. | |

| Looks like we could be looking at left side LB's in next years draft. | |

LILB? Maybe. But Belcher and Siller are still young and could prove something this year.. LOLB? Doubt it. At least not high. Houston and Sheffield will be ballers.

| I'd love for Siller to become the starter. Dude has the talent. Hes stacked too, he'd be one of the few players who look intimidating. Hes probably our best run stuffer too. He can be the one who comes out in passing situations though... even though he has the talent to become a very good all around LB. Just like Houston, hes already going to be one of our best pass rushers. He has the talent to do everything else, just needs to work on it more. | |

Then looking at that depth where would you guess they would draft. I know we dont know what the young guys are gonna do, I'm just taking a guess. I only see RT or left side LB's. Personally I'd still look QB... especially since it is going to be stacked next year, but I know that wont happen.

| Might finally be the year for OL. But its hard telling this early.. season hasn't even started yet. Out of all the Lb positions though, ILB would be the most likely. | |

| I'm excited for Siller though. Hopefully he can learn the defense fast. He could be our steal from the free agency period. Like something as extreme as the Pats getting Vrabel from the Steelers(or was it Ravens?). | |

| so when a team signs a big FA its an overpaid castoff but when KC gets a cheap FA he is great? I would think if a player was good and cheap they would want to hang on to him. | |

| Happens all the time. Low key free agents tend to have better careers than big name high paid ones. | |

| I think there's a few players on everyteam who didn't cut it on one team but ended up pretty good on another. | |

Vrabel came from the Steeler to the Partriots. I hope Siller does turn into that type of player. Would be awesome

| but I promise you had KC made the splash and signed Namdi(which I did NOT want to do) you would be calling it the best FA move in Chiefs history. | |

| I wouldn't be against signing Nnamdi at all. Hes not a cast off, hes the best CB in the NFL. We didn't need to sign him, but I'm not going to cry about having one of the best players. I wouldn't put Siller up with the "greats" either. | |

| I hear Cassell is finally starting to look the part in camp, but if he fails this season. I'm so happy with the talent at every position i would be for trading the farm to go up and get Luck | |

I don't know about 'the farm'. To trade up for him from outside the top 5 would be a near impossibility. I, for one, will be rooting for the Chiefs this year.

| Trading could be more common actually with the new rookie cap. | |
