| For the past decade, OLG Brian Waters has been a premier player for the Chiefs, earning five Pro Bowl appearances while being a leader both on and off the field. However, he might be nearing the end of his Kansas City career. According to our team sources, Chiefs management is very high on reserve OG Jon Asamoah, a third-round pick a year ago. GM Scott Pioli comes from New England, which was known for getting rid of veterans with big salaries and replacing them with younger players. That scenario might play out soon with Waters. | |

| I have been wondering about this myself. I can actually see this playing out this year. If it doesn't, I see Asomoah splitting snaps with Waters and this being Waters last year as a Chief. | |

| I also am very high on Asamoah. But it seemed he struggled last year at LG. I'm pretty sure he was a RG all his career in college too. I still think he could do it, but I think Lilja or Harris could be more LG ready. | |

| If Waters stays this year I dont see them unseating Lilja to split snaps with Waters or backup waters. Could be very possible he is released. | |

| I kinda hate to see them just release him. Been a valuable member of the Chiefs line for so long. But I do believe it is time to move on. Maybe reduce his salary and keep him as a mentor and team leader. Would be great for depth also. | |

| I'm fine with him staying another year. Honestly by the end of the year the weak links on the line were Wiegmann and Lilja. They were both great to start the season.. they just lost some weight and got worn down as the season went on.. kinda like T-Jones.. but those two could have also played a little role him getting more worn down too. | |

| I hope he does stay this year, if nothing else Lilja can rotate in with Waters and keep them both fresh. The article does make a point about the salary deal. It will be interesting to find out what Pioli thinks about the situation. | |
