Because the Chiefs just signed Shaun Smith.

Shaun Smith hinted he was back with the Chiefs and the KC Star's Adam Teicher reports that, indeed, he is.

#Chiefs sign DL Shaun Smith for season's final 8 games. Could mean Glenn Dorsey will be out for an extended period.

It's good to have Smith back. He seems to bring some attitude with him. The Chiefs reportedly worked him out earlier this year but opted not to sign him.

This is also a sign that Glenn Dorsey, who re-injured his calf last week, could be out for a little bit. Both Smith and Dorsey are defensive ends. Dorsey missed a month with a calf injury and he apparently re-injured. His status is unknown but Smith's signing suggests he could miss some time.

It doesn't mean the Chiefs will start winning games, but I'm glad Smith is back in the fold.

Dorsey should be out indefinitely. I don't see him coming back. I think he's played his last game as a Chief.

Routt's contract gauranteed him $6million... and the Chiefs just waived him to make room for Shaun Smith. I hated Routt but this is proof thatPioli is fucking clueless.. you do not pay a guy that much to play 8 games. Alson Romeo is no longer DC for the Chiefs that job now belongs to Gary Gibbs.

Dorsey is gone. Ive been saying it since last offseason. He's gonna sign with a team that runs the 4-3 and im sure he'll be an impactful player for them. Albert will walk and sign with a team in need of a decent LT. Im gonna say the Chargers since they tend to pick up alot of Chiefs. Bowe is off to Miami and were done.

Dorsey being good is a myth. We run packages where hes used just like he would be in the Bucs cover two he was supposed to be perfect for, he still doesn't get to the QB like hes supposed to like Warren Sapp.
