| Poe signed his contract and will be in camp on time. The Chiefs also signed LT Tony Ugoh. | |

| Ugoh is an interesting option for us to put someone out there with some experience if Albert goes down. | |

| It's time!!! No more negativity from me (except for maybe T. Jackson). How do the Chiefs do if Cassel goes for 3300 22 and 10? | |

| Romeo presser-
* the Chiefs are going to win a playoff game this season with Matt Cassel
* Bowe is a no show and when he does report, they will eval & get him ready to play.
* he expects Baldwin to be the #1 WR
* a few players had to run a second time to pass the team criteria, did not say who
* Likes Houston's shape and expects him to turn it up this season, expects this season to be a big leap for Justin

| Moeaki out wide, Boss in the slot and McCluster on the other side...kinda strange formation.

Well I think he can get a win this year as the Chiefs QB, but it wont be because HE carried the team by any means.

| IDK I expect big things from Cassel this year lol. I know broken record. But if I am wrong will be ready to eat crow. But for now drinking the Cassel kool aid.
With Dwayne Bowe officially holding out, 2011 first-round pick Jonathan Baldwin opened Chiefs training camp as a starter opposite Steve Breaston. "His weight is down," coach Romeo Crennel observed of Baldwin. "He's in great shape. He's got a good attitude. I anticipate he will have a good year going forward." Baldwin also got first-team reps in spring practices, and would start if Bowe missed regular season games. We just don't see that happening.
Peyton Hillis "took turns" with Jamaal Charles as the featured running back as the Chiefs opened training camp on Friday. Tony Moeaki and Eric Berry started at tight end and strong safety respectively, so it's not like the ACL trio was being eased in. The Chiefs' plan is for Hillis and Charles to split 500 carries, leaving enough fantasy value for both backs. It's worth noting that Thomas Jones had 245 carries and roughly 900 rushing yards in Charles' best season two years ago. Hillis has sleeper appeal as a RB2/flex option behind one of the NFL's top offensive lines.

| I think it will be closer to 60/40 with Charles getting it more.
Also, Its stupid if they moved Baldwin over to Bowes spot unless they plan on keeping him there still when Bowe gets back. Either way they are the two starters, but Baldwin needs to focus on getting HIS position down pat.

| 11 on 11...Cassel hit Baldwin across the middle and the defender slipped. Only had to beat the safety for 6

| Good
1. The injured players looked fantastic out there. Berry, Charles and Moeaki made runs, cuts and looked just as good as 2010. The scary thing is you can tell that Berry and Charles have bulked up from the waist up which is insane. Both were very fast on the field and you could tell the players were excited.
2. Jonathan Baldwin looks like the real deal. He made a few really good catches today. In the 7 v 7 scrimmage, he had a fantastic catch across the middle between DJ and Flowers. He also had a good sideline catch.
3. This was the biggest surprise to me today: Jalil Brown is BIG compared to our other DB's. He was 6'2" 202 lbs last year, but I think he's gotta be around the 210 range. 610 talked about how he worked out more than his offseason routine to get stronger at the line of scrimmage. He looked really good today. I think the Chiefs feel comfortable with Routt and Brown. Either way this team is very deep in the secondary.
4. Brian Daboll's match up's look awesome. One of the first plays was the 2 TE set with Charles and Hillis in the backfield. Before the snap Hillis went out wide as a receiver. The defense thought run the whole time. The play turned out to be a play action to the right and Cassel threw the ball to Hillis on the opposite side for a 9 yard gain beating DJ.
There was another with McCluster doing a fake end around ending with a about a 25 yard completion to Baldwin. I really like what I saw from Daboll. He seems to have a very creative offensive mindset. I can see why Pioli chose him over Al Saunders. Daboll is a very attack-oriented coach.
Bad
1. Charles was a bit rusty. He fumbled today and it wasn't pretty. He had another occasion where he fumbled, but was just out of bounds as it happened. That's to be expected though.
2. Wylie fumbled a punt return and then had a lost his footing on the next play. Hopefully that's rookie jitters and it will ware off.
3. Abram Elam doesn't look that great. If Berry goes down again, I hope Elam isn't the one taking his spot. Elam looks old out there compared to the rest. He's slow, plus he took bad angles.
Other notes
1. Poe did a lot of hand trills today. More than anyone else by far. Anthony Pleasant was showing him some good stances to use to build his momentum. Poe even stayed for a little bit after practice to talk to Romeo and Pleasant about the technique. It's good to see he's trying so hard because he has the body to be dominant.
2. Stanzi looked good, but had a relapse. He made some good throws today, but held onto the ball a bit too long and took a sack and another pressure. He even threw a ball out of bounds because he didn't see anyone open (which is the right play). He didn't have real WR's to get open, but still.
