Positives/Negatives

What are reasons for optimism and concern surrounding the Chiefs this season?

Optimism-- they went out and put some more offensive weapons in place to make Cassel look better than he is. They still have the best RB in the game.
they resigned the best OLB in the game who has only played the position a couple years. The secondary is one of the best overall in the game but has not been shown yet because they have to cover longer than any other in the game.
They had a great draft for the 2nd year in a row.

Concern- Didnt pick up another RT to either replace or at least push Richardson. Replaced our NT with a guy that isnt really any better than the one we already had. Dline is still a concern with a lot of unknowns whether anybody wants to admit it or not.

Optimism

-Their one glaring weakness last year was at WR. They fixed that by drafting a taller, faster, better handed WR than our Pro Bowl WR last year. Also they added Steve Breaston, so even if Baldwin doesn't at least play like Bowe did his, we still have another option. Urban is coming off the IR, he would have been our #2 WR last year. Moeaki and McCluster should improve their second years in the NFL.

-Another area that really hurt the offense was 3rd/4th and short. Adding McClain to the mix should help change that.

-Our defense is very young and talented. Returning all but two starters, we upgraded at NT. Losing Vrabels play of the field is addition by subtraction. We drafted someone whos much more talented, we bring Sheffield back from the IR who was looking like our best rookie last year before getting hurt in training camp, and we have the Stude who has looked pretty good in limited action.

-Also our defense played like one of the best in the NFL in the first half. But they wore down in the second half because our offense couldn't move the chains and stay on the field. With those added pieces of offense, that could change. Again its a young talented defense, and they will just get better another year together and under Crennel.

-AFC West is weak

-Zorn can fix a QB better than Weis

Concern-

-Very hard schedule compared to last year

-Losing Shaun Smith hurts big time

-I think Waters still had another year in the tank, and also losing Vrabel(Leadership Reasons)

-Unproven(but very talented) players need to step up

-The knees of Glenn Dorsey

-Need another OT(I'm actually very content with Richardson starting, and LOVE Mims). No real depth behind the two starters.

-Weigmann and Lilja wearing down at the end of the year again

probably right because if I were GM we'd have peyton manning throwing to all those weapons and not fitzpatrick.

If we had Manning, we wouldn't have half of our team. It would cost quite a bit to trade for him. We also wouldn't have the space to resign our young guys when their contracts are up if we even were to have them.

According to you guys Pioli has a core of talent that are all surefire hall of famers because Pioli cant draft a bust (at least not since Jackson). so if Manning had all these young future hall of famers to throw to we'd win 4 out of the next 5 with the talent we already have. I'd take 4 SB's in 5 yrs and then go through a few bad years again.

How would you possibly get Manning and still keep all those players? I feel like if it were that easy, he wouldn't be a Colt right now.
