Wonder if he was wanting to go party with J. Allen and B. Roethlesberger? Vrabel brings the liquor... Ben brings the chics... and Allen designated drunk driver?

| Vrabel’s arrest arose from eight bottles of beer Posted by Mike Florio on April 4, 2011, 5:55 PM EDT Mike Vrabel AP
KMBC 9 in Kansas City has tracked down some more details regarding the Monday morning arrest of Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel.
Per KMBC, Indiana Gaming Commissioner Director of Enforcement Kenny Rowan said that Vrabel was seen by an enforcement agent taking “bottles of alcohol from a deli” without paying for them. We’re told that the “bottles of alcohol” were eight bottles of beer.
Since video cameras are installed throughout most casinos (insert your own “Vrabel should be used to that since he played for the Patriots” line here), there should be visual evidence of the alleged incident.
And speaking of the Patriots, would it be too cynical to suspect a Colts-Pats rivalry angle to the decision of the enforcement agent to have Vrabel arrested?
Either way, free booze flows like spring water in most casinos, since it serves as the ultimate WD-40 for the hinge of a wallet. We’d therefore be surprised if the owners of the casino decide to pursue the matter.

| Vrabel confirms arrest, calls it a “misunderstanding” Posted by Mike Florio on April 4, 2011, 4:06 PM EDT VrabelMugshot
We’ve obtained via agent Neil Cornrich a statement on behalf of Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel, who was arrested today for theft at the Belterra casino in Indiana.
Said Vrabel, via Cornrich: “It was an unfortunate misunderstanding, and I take full responsibility for the miscommunication. I feel comfortable that after talking with the appropriate parties, we will resolve this matter.”
Details remain sketchy regarding the nature of the alleged theft.

| Mike Vrabel arrested for felony theft in Indiana Posted by Mike Florio on April 4, 2011, 3:28 PM EDT Mike Vrabel AP
Two days before he’s due to be in court as a named plaintiff in the Tom Brady antitrust lawsuit, Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel had a much different entanglement with the justice system.
The criminal justice system.
Acting on a tip, we contacted the Switzerland County Jail in Vervay, Indiana. Jail Commander James LaPine tells PFT that Vrabel was arrested for theft at the Belterra Casino in Florence, Indiana earlier today.
The charge, under Indiana law, is a Class D felony. LaPine had no information regarding the thing that was allegedly stolen.
In Indiana, theft of anything, regardless of value, is a Class D felony. It carries a sentence of six months to three years in prison.
Vrabel, who also is a member of the NFLPA* Executive Committee, was booked at 5:28 a.m. local time. He was released at 10:39 a.m. after posting $600 bond.
The jail had no further details regarding the specifics of the alleged crime. Also, LaPine declined to provide Vrabel’s date of birth for cross-reference purposes. But LaPine confirmed that the Mike Vrabel who was arrested, booked, and released is the same Mike Vrabel who plays pro football.
Vrabel’s agent, Neil Cornrich, was not immediately available for comment. NFLPA* spokesman George Atallah likewise was unavailable via phone.
UPDATE: Via agent Neil Conrich, Vrabel has issued a statement acknowledging the arrest. “It was an unfortunate misunderstanding, and I take full responsibility for the miscommunication,” Vrabel said. “I feel comfortable that after talking with the appropriate parties, we will resolve this matter.”

| And now Vrabel's got a taste of the bottom of his foot. “We’re players here to represent players and De works for us,” Vrabel told Albert Breer of NFL Network. “They do [have a seat]. And if they’re unhappy with that seat, we have to vote in a new executive committee, and a new board of reps.”
Except you're not a union anymore dumbass. Not having the best month are ya there buddy? | |
